Vogue Italia & San Pellegrino: Private Dinner
A perfect fusion of food and fashion inspired our recent collaboration. We worked with Vogue and San Pellegrino to design a dinner for 80 fashion and food industry heavyweights, to celebrate talented young Sydney designer Christopher Esber and Melbourne’s culinary sharp shooter, Peter Gunn of Attica. They’ve been selected to represent the Pacific region in the San Pellegrino +Vogue Italia international “Talents & Food” competition, and will travel to Milan for the final event in June.
Both Esber and Gunn are known for their strong, elegant, no-fuss creations, so we took that as our direction to design the event and table scape at Establishment’s luxurious est. restaurant. As guests arrived at the media wall, they couldn’t miss the giant bottle-shaped tower of special limited edition San Pellegrino-Vogue Italia bottles. For the dining room, we took our cues from Esber’s minimalist colour palette, with arrangements of exotic white blooms and magnolia buds, plus touches of green to echo the iconic San Pellegrino bottle.
Clusters of hand cut crystal vases and stands at different heights integrated the new signature water bottles into the table settings, while reflecting the delicate tea lights. We kept the rest of the tables super simple, white-on-white, to show off Peter Gunn’s curated dishes. We also echoed the new bottle design illustrations on the hand calligraphed place cards. Esber said his latest collection was inspired by Rembrandt’s unfinished artworks, and the mix of cool marble, cut crystal and sleek grey seating was the perfect foil to his sleek designs.
